Not equivalent to velonews website.
The app does not display news from velonews website, only allows to purchase e-mag versions of velo magazine.
Crap App
Yep. It is. Although it says "Free" in the App Store, downloading it gives you the ability to then buy an issue. Wow. So what is "free" here?
Not an App
Crap App is right (read below). Apps like "The Economist" provide readers the option of reading Editor Notes (compressed yet informative) for free or purchasing the full edition. Im a little disappointed at Velos approach.
Nice to have on iPad, but a little bit buggy
Love the ability to purchase single issues that can be read on an iPad, but...am perplexed by the fact flipping through (as you do a book) doesnt work correctly. Every third "page" produces a black screen. When compared to the print edition, some of those black screens are nothing, but some appear where content should. The pattern isnt consistent; for example, sometimes page 22 is blacked out, then later, page 22 shows but page 23 is blacked out. Only way around it is to tap for the lower menu to appear, then select pages individually there (not quite the experience one expects). Otherwise, appears to be a pretty good app. : : : June 2013 update : : : What? No digital version of the 2013 Tour de France issue? Unlike 2012, its only available in print? Sorry, but that dropped my original 4 star rating to 1 star. Epic fail...please rethink the decision, Velo News.
Buyers Guide is a little joke!
I bought the buyers guide 2014 because I wanted to buy me a new pair of cycling shoes… well, there are exactly 7 shoes in there… and none of the brands I may be interested in. this is a little joke here… useless buyers guide. Normally I bought one in germany from a competitor. They have about 20 to 50 items per section.
